The pervasive application of the Nebraska sales and use tax makes it imperative that business people, tax compliance departments and their professional advisors be aware of liabilities for the tax and planning opportunities to minimize this cost. Errors in collecting, paying or reporting tax can result in businesses incurring significant liability, not only for tax, but for interest and penalties. As both purchasers and sellers are liable for this tax, most businesses are potentially vulnerable. This 4-hour seminar will be a general update on the sales and use tax system in Nebraska.
