Conference / Course (Event) Pricing
The fee for the conference or course (event) is listed under "Fee" in the catalog. Unless otherwise noted, fees include all instructional costs and course materials.
The fees for non-AICPA courses are based upon the following:
- Society Member – Member of the Society or a non-CPA, staff person of a firm having Society members.
- Society Nonmember – A CPA who isn’t a Society member or a non-CPA, staff person of a firm not having Society members.
The fees for AICPA courses are based upon the following:
- Society & AICPA Member – Member of both the Nebraska Society of CPAs and AICPA.
- AICPA or Society Nonmember– Nonmember of either the AICPA or the Nebraska Society of CPAs.
- AICPA & Society Nonmember – Nonmember of both the AICPA and the Nebraska Society of CPAs.

Society Member Discounts
The Society allows a $30 member discount for individuals attending a Nebraska Society event provided the individual is a member of the Nebraska Society or is a non-CPA staff person of a firm having Nebraska Society of CPAs’ members.
A $15 Coupon can be used once by each Society member for one Society-sponsored event throughout the current CPE year. The coupon is published in the annual CPE Catalog & Resource Guide as will as in the April and May editions of the The Nebraska CPA.
AICPA members who register for a course provided by the AICPA will receive a $30 discount for each applicable 8-hour AICPA course. There are no AICPA discounts for 4-hour AICPA courses.
A $35 late fee will be charged for registrations that are received less than ten (10) days prior to the event. This includes online registrations, faxes or U.S. mail postmarks.
Registrations received via fax or mail two days prior to the event do not guarantee a reservation in the course. Walk-ins are available on a space-available basis only and do not guarantee space, lunch or materials. Walk-ins and late registrations are also liable for the $35 late fee.
Confirmations are sent by email or mail; whichever is selected on the registration form. The registration confirmation will include the attendee’s name, event date, site location and starting time. Be sure to review it carefully. Occasionally there may be a starting time or location change that is different from what was published in the catalog.
If a confirmation is not received within one week of registration, contact the Nebraska Society office immediately (402.476.8482 or 800.642.6178).
Any registrant may substitute another individual for his or her registration up to the beginning of the first morning session of the conference or course without any penalty.
Those who register for an event and do not attend are responsible for the event fee and will receive the event materials. If there is a balance due, the materials will be sent once the balance due has been paid in full.
The Society reserves the right to cancel an event due to insufficient enrollment or inclement weather. In both cases, the registrant will be given the option to receive a refund or transfer the amount paid to a different Society-sponsored event. If the event is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the Society office staff will contact each registrant at least five (5) days prior to the event. In the case of bad weather, the Society office staff will contact each registrant as soon as physically possible by email or phone. All cancellations will also be posted our website www.nescpa.org.
If a cancellation is needed, a written cancellation notice must be received by mail, fax (402.476.8731) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Cancellations received in the Society office five (5) working days prior to the event date will receive a full refund. A $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from the full refund for those cancelling two (2) to four (4) working days prior to the event date. Except in special circumstances, refunds will not be granted to those attempting to cancel registrations less than two (2) full working days prior to the event date.
Conference & CPE Locations
All event locations are listed in the catalog with the event, in the Conference/CPE Calendar and can be located on our website. The NFPC & GAAC Conferences are being held at The Cornhusker in Lincoln, and the FALL Conference is being held at the Embassy Suites in Lavista.
Conference Start & Ending Times
Conferences generally begin at 8 a.m. with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m. Ending times vary depending upon the conference schedules. Please review the confirmation, conference brochures and this website for specific times.
CPE Course Start & Ending Times
Plan to arrive 10 to 30 minutes early to retrieve course materials and to find a seat. Be sure to check the confirmation and this website for the exact time. Eight (8) Hour courses begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 4:30 p.m. or begin at 8 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. Four (4) Hour courses begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:00 p.m. or begin at 1:00 p.m. and end 4:30 p.m.
Lunch is provided during a one (1) hour lunch break for all full-day events. Please indicate on the registration form under "specific needs" if there is a specific dietary requirement.

Parking is generally provided with the event fees. If the event is being held at the Mahoney State Park, be sure to sign the sign-in sheet at the information booth at the park entrance to obtain the daily mandatory parking pass. Review the "Additional Information" on your confirmation for parking specifics. For events that have "City of Lincoln Parking" – the Society will validate the attendee’s parking ticket at registration if he/she parks in a City of Lincoln parking garage.

What To Wear
Business casual attire is recommended. Because meeting room temperatures are difficult to control, it is wise to dress in layers.
Cellular Phone Usage, Laptops & Smoking
Smoking is NOT permitted in the classrooms at any of our courses or conferences. The use of laptops is strongly discouraged, and cellular phones should be on silent mode in the classroom.
At the conclusion of each event, a CPE attendance verification form will be distributed for all attendees to sign. The Nebraska Society office can only verify attendance if the form has been signed.
For all Society conferences, an attendance form is included in the conference manual for the attendee's completion.
All events listed in the catalog have been submitted to the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy for approval of recommended CPE credit. See "CPE Credit" in the event descriptions in our catalog for approved CPE hours.
CPE Certificates are not prepared for each course attended. Summary listings of all Society-sponsored CPE courses and CPE credit hours earned are mailed to Society members by mid-January. If you are not a member and need a summary, please email Lori (email@example.com).
Reminder - Nebraska's CPE Rules
The rules for Continuing Professional Education for Nebraska CPAs can be located within Title 288/ Chapter 8 of the Board regulations and CPE Guidelines can be viewed at http://www.nbpa.ne.gov/pdf/cpe-guidelines.pdf. Most noted among the rules is a four-hour ethics requirement for biennial license renewals (80 CPE hours) and reinstatements (120 CPE hours). Additionally the Board decided 16 hours of self-determined Personal Development courses that are related to the CPAs current employment can be reported. The rules also clarify the number of CPE hours allowed for self-study, faculty and college semester credit hours, and grant the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy the authority to request documentation from a permit holder for five years from their last reporting period. If you have any questions about the CPE rules, you should contact the State Board at (800) 564-6111 or you can also view the rules on the State Board's website at www.nbpa.ne.gov.
The Society office generally retains records for three (3) years.
Sale of Course Material
With the exception of the “Audits of Nebraska School Districts” (ASD) course, seminar materials cannot be sold separately.
Evaluation forms are distributed after every CPE event and conference. Please take time to complete these. The Society office and discussion leaders do read these and take the comments and concerns seriously.
