Nebraska CPE Requirements
Maintaining Your CPE
The rules for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) for Nebraska CPAs are located within Title 288, Chapter 8 of the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy regulations.
Most noted among the rules is a four-hour Ethics requirement for biennial license renewals (80 CPE hours) and reinstatements (120 hours). In addition, 16 hours of self-determined Personal Development courses that are related to the CPA's current employment may be reported. The rules also clarify the number of CPE hours for ondemand/self-study, faculty, and college semester credit hours, and grant the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy the authority to request documentation from a permit holder for five years from the individual's last reporting period.
