CPE Policies
CPE Pricing
Society Membership Discounts
The Society offers Early Bird Pricing for individuals attending a Nebraska Society event. Standard Pricing goes into effect 30 days prior to the event.
Course & Conference Fees
The fee for the conference or course is listed in each course. Unless otherwise noted, fees include all instructional costs and electronic materials (ematerials).
CPE Materials
All events are paperless unless attendees elect to pay for printed materials.
Why the change from hard copy to ematerials?
- Providing ematerials allows you to have the most current information. The PDF file made available 2-3 business days prior to the course will include the most up-to-date information.
- Going paperless eliminates the need to store or collect bulky manuals in your office or at home.
- Instead of flipping through multiple printed pages to find a definition, act, or rule, you can easily search for a keyword or phrase for immediate results.
- Going paperless is environmentally friendly.
What if I want a printed copy of the materials?
If you would like a printed copy, either click the box next to "Printed Materials" when you are registering for the event, or click the download ematerials from the My Upcoming CPE section of the NESCPA website and print them prior to the course.
When can I download my ematerials?
Your ematerials will be available to download 2-3 business days prior to the course. You will receive an email alerting you when ematerials are available for download. Be sure to whitelist society@nescpa.org. Because Internet quality cannot be guaranteed at some facilities, we recommend you download ematerials prior to arriving at the course location.
How can I view the downloaded ematerials?
Ematerials can be viewed on your laptop, tablet, or favorite electronic device. You also can print them prior to the course and bring them with you. Although electrical access will be available to charge your device at the course location, we recommend having your device fully charged prior to arriving.
How will ematerials be formatted?
All ematerials are provided in a PDF. We recommend having Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat, Version 7.0 or higher.
What options are available to annotate (take electronic notes) in my ematerials?
You can annotate your ematerials using the following:
- Adobe Acrobat Version 7.0 or higher.
- Free PDF annotation software such as Nitro or many others available in your app store.
- iPad - users with iOS 11 or newer can annotate within the iBooks application that comes standard on all devices. Those with an older iOS should purchase iAnnotate or another annotate app to use with their ematerials.
- Kindle Fire - users must purchase an app such as ezPDF or another annotate app in order to access bookmarks and annotation.
NOTE: If materials have been scanned, highlighting and commenting will not be accessible.
May I share my ematerials with others?
All ematerials are copyrighted and permission to download or print is granted exclusively to the paid attendee.
Can I buy the materials without attending the course?
With the exception of the “Audits of Nebraska School Districts” (ASD) guide, materials are not sold separately from the course.
CPE Registration
Confirmations
You should receive a registration confirmation via email two days prior to the course. Any registrant may substitute another individual for his or her registration up to the beginning of the first morning session of the event.
Online Event Launch
Once you are registered, you can launch most events directly from the Society website. Go to My NESCPA, then My Upcoming CPE.
No Shows
Those who register for an event and do not attend are responsible for the event fee and will receive the course materials.
Society Cancellations
The Society may cancel an event due to insufficient enrollment, inclement weather, or other circumstances beyond the Society’s control. In these cases, the amount paid will be placed as a credit on the registrant's account to attend another Society-sponsored event. The registrant has the option of requesting a refund.
If the event is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, the Society will contact each registrant at least five days prior to the event.
In the case of inclement weather, the Society will contact each registrant as soon as possible by email or phone. All cancellations will be posted on the Society website.
Registrant Cancellations
If a registrant needs to cancel his/her registration, the registrant must provide a written notice to the Society via email at society@nescpa.org.
Cancellations received in the Society office 15 days or less prior to the event date will receive an account credit minus a $50 cancellation fee. Except in special circumstances, refunds will not be granted to those attempting to cancel registrations less than six days prior to the event date.
Specific Needs
Please notify the office at 402-476-8482 or kelly@nescpa.org at least one week prior to an event if you have any special dietary requirements (for full-day courses) or other specific needs; we will do our best to accommodate you.
Location Information
Parking
Parking is generally but not always provided with event fees. If the event is held at Mahoney State Park, be sure to sign the sign-in sheet at the information booth at the park entrance to obtain the daily mandatory parking pass. Review your registration confirmation for parking specifics.
Lodging
Special lodging rates may be available for in-person courses. Please contact Kelly at the Society office at 402-476-8482 or kelly@nescpa.org.
What to Wear
Business casual attire is recommended for in-person courses. Because meeting room temperatures are difficult to control, we recommend dressing in layers to ensure comfort.
CPE Credit
Attendance Verification
At the conclusion of in-person CPE events, a CPE attendance verification form will be distributed for all attendees to sign. The Nebraska Society office can only verify attendance if the form has been signed.
All webcast courses use a form of online prompts during the broadcast for verification of attendance.
Society-Sponsored Courses
All courses listed as In-Person CPE, Conferences, and NESCPA Webcasts in the CPE Catalog have been submitted to and approved by the Nebraska Board of Public Accountancy for recommended CPE credit. CPE certificates may be downloaded for each course attended through the My CPE Tracker. The My CPE Tracker also allows you to download annual CPE transcripts at any time, and to include self-entered CPE courses to your transcript.

Money on Account
This policy outlines the treatment of unallocated funds held in “Money on Account” by members and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) registrants of the Nebraska Society of CPAs when an individual’s balance falls to $100 or less after a continuous period of two years. In alignment with our commitment to supporting the educational aspirations of future Nebraska accounting students, this policy enables the conversion of these remaining funds into a donation to the Foundation of the Nebraska Society of CPAs for the purpose of funding scholarships.
