NESCPA Legislative Update: Day 1
January 03, 2024
Today was Day 1 of the 108th Nebraska Legislature, Second Session. Sen. Mike Jacobson, Dist. 42, of North Platte has introduced LB 854 on behalf of the Nebraska Society of CPAs. Click here to view the legislation. The bill will allow individuals to take the CPA exam upon completion of at least 120 semester hours of qualifying academic credit and a bachelor’s degree. NESCPA Chairman Kelly Martinson of Lutz will be testifying in support of the bill once the public hearing is scheduled.
Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the NESCPA State Senators’ Reception & Dinner last night. We had a great showing, with about half of the senators joining us at the event!
